In urban rail transit traffic system, safety of operation, transport capacity, speed and operation efficiency, are all closely connected to signal system. Thus it is important to choose an appropriate signal system in order to obtain more economic and social benefits. Signal system(SIG), consisted of Automatic Train Control(ATC) and peripheral signal equipment, is an advanced control system which are designed to shorten the running interval between trains, to improve running efficiency, and to guarantee transit safety.Automatic Train Supervision system(ATS) studied in this thesis, as a subsystem of the ATC system, is the operation core of the whole urban rail transit traffic system. The supervision of position and status of trains, track of trains’ running interval and operation adjustment, train route arrangement, drawing of train working lines, man-machine human-computer interface, and event recording and playback are ATS’s main functions. The simulation experiments applying simulation technology on ATS system have gotten more and more applications. This thesis introduces the basic concepts and detailed functions of ATS system. Based on that, some key technologies models, for instance, automatic generation of station map and train timetable, automatic generation and adjustment of train diagram, and automatic train route arrangement, are in deep discussion and analysis. Next, this thesis presents a complete ATS simulation system design, including the whole structure design, and operation flowchart. Unified Modeling Language is used to design class structure diagram, part of the class structure table, and state diagram and sequence diagram of part of train route module. With modular construction design concept, every single module could realize a certain preliminary model function independently according to VC++6.0 programming platform and Access database.According to simulation technologies of discrete system, this thesis studies simulation technology and modeling of ATS, and implements the complete design and analysis of the simulation system. With modular design during simulation, the advantage of module reusability, which greatly simplifies the development process and saves software development expense, has a significant meaning for the ATS system development and personnel training and learning.
