Cement pavement, the most commonly used pavement material, has been wildly applied in highway construction of China. And cement pavement of various traffic loads often selects water-stale macadam base as the base material.In construction, the cement slurry from concrete will infiltrate into base, and form a transitional layer between cement plate and the base. The formation of transitional layer will bond cement plate and the base so that the onset bonding state which is not maintainable is formed. As a result of stress concentration, crack will appear on the bottom of inter-layer, expand downward and finally penetrate into the plate. The instant of crack penetrating into the plate, a large recovery force will produced which will lead to the inter-layer separation, and three inter-layer fundamental failures occur. The pavement bearing capacity will reduced significantly because of the failures. Therefore three inter-layer fundamental failures should be possibly avoided which means that the formation of transitional layer should be prevented. The research shows that paving transitional materials can effectively prevent its formation.Through comparing various isolation materials, waxed curing agent is found to have the distinctive advantages of good lubrication, quickly construction, low cost and so on. Thus it is necessary to have a further study on the its isolation performance which can be gave full play to in some particular cases.By spraying waxed curing agent of different doses on water-stable macadam base of different texture depths and conducting tests of different transitional performances, the research measures the index values of various transitional performances and analyzes the improvement of inter-play bond after spraying waxed curing agent.The results show that it is effective to reduce the inter-play bond by spraying waxed curing agent on water-stable macadam base. In some scope of dosage, the more of waxed curing agent, the more obvious of the reduction to inter-play bond. The film-forming process of waxed curing agent is also analyzed which shows that the penetration process of waxed curing agent downward actually is the increasing of its viscosity. The internal wall of Such waxed curing agent tends to be in lumps during the process of penetrating downward which may wrap the air so that more waxed curing agent will be film forming on the base surface. Given to this, the research proposes the way of delaying and time-division to spray quantificational waxed curing agent to improve the isolation effect.
