A novel mechanical device applied in an axial field variable flux permanent magnet synchronous machine is proposed in this paper,which is intended to overcome the problem that the field of the permanent magnet motor is difficult to regulate.This motor uses centrifugal force to regulate the field of the axial flux permanent magnet(AFPM)motor and without any extra loss.The operation principle and mechanically flux-weaking principle is investigated deeply,of which combine with the structure of the motor and mechanical device.The mechanical dynamics and electric-magnetic coupling simulation is developed.The results of this paper broaden the way of flux-weaking and have an important signification to the research of flux-varing machine.The main works and achievements of this paper are as follow:1.The structure characteristics of this machine and mechanical device are given in detail.The operation principle and mechanically flux-weaking principle is investigated deeply.Equations of EMF which changed by stagger angle are obtained by the theoretical derivation.2.The electromagnetic design theory is explored and the main structure parameters are given.Base on the construction features of the new machine,the equivalent magnetic circuits are given and the electromagnetic parameters are established.The material of stator,rotor and permanent magnets is determined and the phase of winding coil is explored.3.3D geometry of mechanical dynamics simulation is built and the joints between the machine components are set up.Base on the software ADAMS,the mechanical dynamics simulation is completed.The spring deformation at different speed,the variation of stagger angle between rotors and the angle adjustment capability of the mechanical device is obtained.4.Base on the finite element software Ansoft,the 3D model of the new machine is built,which the electromagnetic characteristics are calculated.The cogging torque is optimized.The variation of winding flux linkage and EMF at different speed is analyzed,which verify the feasibility that regulates the magnetic field by staggering an angle for the rotors.
