Road traffic accidents scenes contain people,vehicles,roads,the environment and other factors.Complete scene evidence collection is a prerequisite for traffic accident maintenance,cause analysis and study of human injury mechanism.An important way to traffic accident scene evidence collection was photographed images.Compared to discrete close range photogrammetry aerial unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)can quickly collect traffic accident scene image sequences which provide important original data for road traffic accidents scenes reconstruction.It is often difficult to obtain a balance in the scene breadth and detail accuracy when aerial UAV apply to the actual accident scene evidence collection.To solve this problem,image mosaic technology was used to stitch a series of low-altitude UAV aerial images to a panorama about the wide range road accident scene.In one particular scene,the mosaic implementation process was discussed with low-altitude UAV aerial images of the road accident scene,including the UAV aerial images acquisition,the UAV camera calibration,pending spliced image feature extraction,image registration and image fusion.Experimental results show that the large scene mosaic image preserves the original image on the details of the resolution,measuring the relative error range of-2.5% to 2.5%,which is important for the scene of the accident overview.Obtaining road scene by a panoramic image mosaic picture shows a two-dimensional image which lack of height information,but height information is extremely important in some accidents.Therefore,we use normalized aerial image sequences to reconstruct the three-dimensional scene,to obtain a three-dimensional model of the scene of road traffic accidents.Experimental results show that the relative error can be controlled at-1% to 1%by measuring the aerial image acquisition sequence of three-dimensional model of the accident scene.While using aerial image sequences make up an image in close-range photogrammetry to the deformation of the vehicle accident reconstruction deficiencies solve the three-dimensional reconstruction of highly reflective body,a transparent window glass rebuilds damaged problems.Experimental results show that the accident scene panorama stitching and three-dimensional reconstruction with UAV sequence of images provides a solution for road traffic accident scene a faster data acquisition and a more intuitive comprehensive data support for the subsequent processing of traffic accidents.
