| Ultra-high strength steel hot stamping technology is more and more improved with the development of automotive lightweight technology. It not only makes automotive lightweight has come true but also improves the safety of vehicles. Meanwhile hot stamping technology makes lots of contributions to energy conservation and environmental protectionThe quality of products are determined by quenching cooling rate of blank, and cooling efficiency of hot stamping mold is one of the most important factors which influence the quality of products in the production of the parts. Cooling efficiency of hot stamping mold depends on the design of cooling channels in mold. Rationally designed and accurately machined mold can also decreases thermal fatigue and improves temperature uniformity of mold surface. With the development of rapid prototyping manufacturing more accurate construction of conformal cooling channels can be achieved. And conformal cooling channels has higher cooling efficiency and better temperature uniformity than traditional straight channels.Finite element numerical simulation technique has been applied to optimize the design of conformal cooling channels in the article for raising design efficiency. In order to more accurately simulate about actual working condition, the interfacial heat transfer coefficient and convective heat transfer coefficient are solved and analyzed in this simulation process. A number of boundary conditions have been simplified mildly in order to improve the operation efficiency. Last but not least the simplification has been tested.Design of experiment and optimization were integrated in this article with the application of computer-aided design software. Systematic conformal cooling channel design optimization was established. Through analyzing the result of simulation and experiment the following conclusions has been obtained:after optimization, the cooling efficiency and temperature uniformity show great improvement. At last this process has some reference value to solve problems of design process in practical industrial production. |
