Wind power slip ring is the key component in wind power system.It is affected by many factors in the process of work and wear. Selecting the appropriate contact material can prolong the service life of the wind power slip ring. As a result, the friction and wear research of contact material of wind power slip ring has practical value.An accelerated friction and wear test device was developed for subject requirement, which can simulate working situation of wind power slip ring by setting contact load and current and speed, meeting the requirements of the accelerated friction and wear test for the wind power slip ring contact materials. After theoretical calculations and the test parameters setting, the test of accelerated friction and wear for three pair of contact materials were carried out. The observational studies of wear morphology for three pair of contact materials were conducted respectively by contrasting and analyzing the wear quantity, contact resistance and friction.It is concluded that the hardness matching of conductive ring with wire brush is a major cause influencing longevity.The hardness of conductive ring should be close to the brush wire material and both should have good electrical conductivity. For comprehensive consideration of the wear condition and the contrast of the test parameters, we come to a result that the third pair of brass plating Pd+ NiAu slip rings and AuNi9 brush is the best match. As to this problem of vibration in the process of accelerated test,it has been analyzed that the vibration is mainly aroused by the change of contact surface roughness in the process of test. After the foundation and ananlysis of vibration model, it is reasonable explanation for the phenomenon of friction reduce in the process of the experimental. Although vibration reduce the friction, but increase the contact resistance and lead to bad abrasion of the contact material of the friction pair, it is necessary to put forward the effective method to reduce the vibration.Using the theory of wind power slip ring life, the purely mechanical wear life of three pairs of contact material has been estimated and compared with the wear life of purely mechanical experiments.The theoretical calculation is close to the experimental result. The calculation theory can be used as a theoretical reference for the accelerated wear test.
