Double skin facade glass curtain wall, also known as double-breathing glass curtain wall, is made up of two layers of glass,in the industry is also called double skin facade(double skin facade referred to as DSF). It is not only transpartent and beautiful, but also has good energy saving performance of buildings. Double skin facade buildings have very good heat preservation effect in winter and the sun-shading design in the fa?ade can play a role in reducing air conditioning refrigerant heating load in summer. Double skin fa?ade can not only meet people's demand for aesthetic appearance of the buildings, but also meet people's indoor thermal comfort requirements and reduce energy consumption at the same time.However, the width, the location of sun-shading in cavity and the size of inlet and outlet have great impact on its thermal insulation properties. In addition, the double skin fa?ade has different thermal performances under different weather conditions, or even worse than traditional walls after some applications. Therefore, it has significant effect on energy saving to detect using effects through field test methods and study the thermal performance of double skin fa?ade in different climatic zones by numerical simulation method.Based on the climate characteristics of hot summer and warm winter zone, the author tested the thermal performance of a double skin fa?ade in a building located in Guangzhou. Then the author compared the simulation results and the test results to verify the reliability of the software, on this basis, the author analyzed different structures' impact on the thermal performance of double skin fa?ade and indoor thermal conditions in each climate zone. After that, the author got the most influential factor and the most suitable structure of each climate zone. Finally, the author compared the simulation results between double skin fa?ade buildings and ordinary window buildings to verify the applicability in different climatic zones to provide references to rational use and design of double skin fa?ade further for studies.The results showed that although the double skin fa?ade has different results in four climate zones, it plays a good role in heat insulation in summer and heat preservation in winter. When designing the double skin fa?ade, the area of inlet and outlet should be considered first in hot summer and warm winter zone and hot summer and cool winter zone, however, the width should be the first considering factor in cold area and severe cold area.
