With the developing of economy,all the country in the world pay close attention to the development and utilization of marine resources.Recent decades,every country has built a lot of mining oil platforms and many wind power facilities for utilizing the resources in cold region.At the same time,we have also developed shipping in the cold region at a rapid velocity.But the sea ice may destroy the marine structure and cause several accidents.The research results have indicated that whether the ice rubble pile occurs in front of marine structures or not has markedly effected on the distribution and amplification of ice force. Thus, the researchers have more attentions to the building-up process of ice rubble pile in front of marine structures.This paper developed these works as follows,for the phenomenon of that the rubble ice pile-up easily takes place in winter in the region of the drill conductor of jacket platform in the sea area covered by ice in China:(1) Through collecting the literature and data, the research status of the building-up process of ice rubble pile is comprehended.(2) CFD was used in this paper to simulate the region of drill conductor of a jacket platform in the shallow area with heavy ice in Bohai sea area, the distribution of possible regions of ice rubble retention was counted, and the results were evaluated according to different inflow directions.(3) Based on the theoretical analysis of the failure mode of ice sheet and movement pattern of ice rubble and the mechanism of the building-up process of ice rubble pile, systematic model tests were carried out in the Ice Mechanics and Ice Engineering Laboratory of Tianjin University. Finally a series of important rules of the building-up process of ice rubble pile behavior were revealed.
