Single lane suspension bridge in less busy mountain is a more popular choice.Because of its great ability to span and the ability to overcome the limitations of the steep terrain,single lane suspension bridge has become a better choice than the continuous beam bridge and continuous rigid frame bridge.Now,suspension bridge in the world is moving towards the direction of large?span continuous progress,but some small and narrow suspension bridge rarely been studied.Single lane suspension bridge is narrower than the average suspension.And its ability of resisting moment and torsion resistance performance has some differences than the average suspension.In the southwest of our country,the Single lane suspension bridge is very popular.Almost half of the bridges built on the Lancang River are the single lane suspension bridges.Therefore,the article takes Yunnan Nujiang Lanping County Huangdeng Dam project Songpa Bridge as the research object,using MATLAB software and finite element analysis software ANSYS as a tool for a study of static and dynamic characteristics of single?lane suspension bridge.Works done in this paper are:1.Through access to relevant literature,we describe the condition of suspension bridge in the development and research status at home and abroad,introduces the single?lane suspension bridge distribution and trends in China.2.Review and summary of the theory of suspension bridges,such as the theory of elasticity,deflection theory,finite displacement theory and analytic theory of computation3.To prepare for the following analysis,some formula are derived,such as centenary equation,the method of segmental centenary iteration,unstressed cable length,the difference of tangents and curves in the saddle 's position and the pre?displacement of cable saddle.4.Using MATLAB software and ANSYS software,the model of analytical theory of computation and the model of finite displacement theory were established for the linear calculation of the main cable.5.The dimensional finite element model of Songpa Bridge was built using ANSYS Software.On this basis,another four suspension bridges of different width were built.Compare these five Suspension Bridge's cable Shape and the structure characteristics in the vehicle load and temperature load.Finally come to its static Behavior.6.Using the static analysis model analysis the dynamic characteristics of the single lane suspension bridge.Analysis the five different width suspension bridge's characteristics of self vibration frequency,cycle and vibration mode,and the vehicle vibration response is studied,in order to get the dynamic characteristics of the single lane suspension bridge.
