In steel construction,the node is been common designed to completely rigid or ideal articulated,while the actual status of the node is deviations.The fact is the majority of the beam-column connections are between those two ideal ways,and is been defined as a semi-rigid connection.In the steel structure design,design of node is the key to ensure the structural system.Therefore like complex stress,stress state,and other forms of damage on this position of the node is an important part of the design to be control.Earthquake occurred on 1994 in Northridge,California(6.7 on the Richter scale)and on 1995 in Kobe,Japan(7.2 on the Richter scale),almost all destroyed the all-welded steel connections which has be considered as the most reliable type.The damage is concentrated in the seam position on beam-column joints,this is a great challenge to the traditional design concept.After that,experts in many country are trying to find a more reliable connection,which can almost without reducing the sustain capacity while avoiding brittle failure on node locations,to improve the ductility of nodes.In this environment: the research on semi-rigid joints using in beam-column connection is more important.In this paper,further study in connection with a typical semi-rigid connection-T connection by using theoretical analysis and experimental research.And the using the large general-purpose finite element analysis software ABAQUS for supplementary analysis.In order to analysis some inconvenience position for directly measure in the experiment,and to give a detailed analysis of the data.Further to improve the shortage on experiment.By dealing with the experiment results and data,finally obtained the form of destruction,the elements by control of the sustain capacity,moment-rotation curve,pry of the bolt such series data for this connection.And further improved the theory of steel connection design for T connection,achieved this connection more widely using in real engineering.
