Research On The Architectural Form Design Of Embassies And Consulates

Embassy is kind of special building, which is so special for the reason that it presents the image of the country. It is the symbol of the foreign policy, economic power, technology level, culture and the tradition of its country. Therefore, the symbolic meaning of embassy is much more than others. However, there is very little reference for such kind of building because the secrecy issue.In this paper, the research target is the design style of embassy. By the research of the design process, we try to find the entrance of idea design. From the views of esthetics, idea design and image design, we summarize the specialist of the design style of embassy.In this paper, through analysis of typology, we collect the reference, especially th ose articles about the cases of embassies which have been built. Then, we focus on on-spot investigation of selected examples, and sum up the feature of them. Meanwhile, the studies about the theoretical research are researched as well. We try to find the ord erliness and the core of the idea design of embassy. Further we might lead the tendcy of embassy design in th future.At last, combine with the personal experience of design and the research we mentioned above. By contrast with good and bad points o f design styles, we conclude the key of the embassy design process. And hope the conclusion can be helpful for architects.
