Gas flow calibration facilities by master meter method transfer standard value and play an important role in the study of flow meter and flow measurement method. Requirement for facilities with better performance becomes stronger.Our research is based on the atmospheric flow facility of large diameter in TUFL and we focus on wider flow range, higher precision and better reliability of the control system. A device upgrade scheme is proposed and we also pay more attention to the design of the control system. Theoretical analysis and test are made for the facility. The purpose of the facility is to make flow meter test. According to the vertification regulation, we made test for standard orifice flowmeter, thermal mass flowmeter and ultrasonic flowmeter. The former is mainly to test the accuracy of the facility and the latter is to make test for the running of the whole facility. As a result, the performance as well as the reliability and operability of the control system is improved. We also accumulate valuable experience for the construction of gas flow facility.
