Study On The Inheritance And Update Of Residence In Jijiaying Village

After entering the 21 st century,the rural construction becomes increasing.However,the “top-down” system for countryside planning leads to a status that architects apply urban planning experience mechanically to rural areas,which results in a lack of feature diversity for villages and rural buildings.In terms of traditional rural buildings,spontaneous construction has its special regularities of generation,development and disappearance,even though there were no architects being involved in construction.This thesis aims to explore the usual factors and time variabilities of traditional rural residential buildings in its process of spontaneous construction by analyzing the classified construction patterns and architectural forms.Jijiaying Village is applied as a case study.This thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter one introduces the research background,aims,literature review,research target and the research framework.Chapter two describesthe history and current situation of Jijiaying Village at the perspective of village layout and architectural features.In Chapter three,based on the field investigation,the residential buildings in Jijiaying Village are classified into three phases according to their appearance differences and construction ages.The construction patterns and architectural forms of residential buildings in all phases are summarized and analyzed.By using longitudinal comparison of Jijiaying village residential buildings,chapter four and Chapter five demonstrate inheritance features and re-generation elements of construction patterns and architectural forms,as well as the reasons and regularities.In Chapter four,the inheritance features are analyzed while in Chapter five the contents of re-generation are illustrated.What hides behind phenomenon reflects that the rural residents abide by traditional manners,look for a better life and pursue the interpersonal harmony.Issues exist in the process of rural residential buildings' reformation.This thesis also provides some feasibility proposals for modern planning system based on an analysis of methods for architects to be involved into the rural development.
