In order to reduce diesel emissions of pollutants to meet the requirements of its use in different environments,the paper proposes a closed cycle diesel engine using liquid oxygen solidify carbon technology.This kind of closed cycle diesel engine has a good application prospect,however,the previous research mainly concentrated in bench testing,research for the ignition chemical reaction mechanism of diesel under the background of this new cycle of is relatively deficient.Therefore,it is urgent to need the burning theory to guide the research of this kind of closed cycle diesel engine.In this paper,by using the computational fluid dynamics software KIVA-3V to generated the computing grid of Sandia constant volume combustion bomb,and simulation of the diesel combustion characteristics under the background of O2 / CO2 environment,and using the colorimetric thermometry to compared the simulation results to the experimental results,and finally verify the accuracy of the calculation model.Using the constant volume combustion bomb testing platform to test process of the visualization research,studied effect of the different environmental conditions work on diesel fuel spray and combustion characteristics.Used the high speed CCD camera on the test process and results were recorded.The study found that,Background gas composition changes will cause the change of the density.When the background gas was composed by fresh air,its density is the lowest;when the elements became into 50% oxygen and 50% carbon dioxide mixed together,the density of the background is the highest.The background gas density will have the larger influence on fuel liquid spray distance,but not on its liquid angle.With the increase of oxygen concentration in inlet composition,the ignition delay period will get shorten quickly,the distance between the ignition location and the fuel injection hole will decreasing.
