Modern aircraft are equipped with a large size and production manufacturing short cycle. And most of the connecting parts with complex shape, thin thickness and drilling technology need to meet the higher requirements. The processing speed of traditional manual hole making is slow, and it is easy to cause burr. This way of hole making can also lead to the hole poor precision and drilling quality can not be guaranteed. Currently the equipment of automatic drilling has been applied widely. Combining with CATIA secondary development technology, the quality of hole and production efficiency problems can be solved better based on MBD digital model.The development process and research status of the automatic drilling are introduced at first. Then aircraft automatic drilling process design and path planning framework are further studyed, summing up the species of matching information for requirements of automatic drilling. At last, the method of technology nodes and technological personnel information adding, the classification of hole type, hole position information quickly obtaining and matching method, standard parts information extraction method, the calculation method of connector mezzanine thickness and path planning method of hole making are detailed description.Using CATIA secondary development tools to develop software and briefly illustrating CAA technology, automatic hole making process information is added to structure tree. The function of aircraft automatic drilling process design and path planning are realized. The quality and efficiency of automatic drilling can be ensured, solving the problems of long production cycle and high cost in the aircraft automatic drilling stage and reducing the workload of technical staff and first-line workers to improve aircraft production efficiency, which promotes the digital development level of civil production.
