Wave spring is a very broad application of non-standard elastic element, its environmental requirements it has good mechanical properties. This paper takes WAVO round wire wave spring and multi wave spring as the research object, using theoretical calculation, finite element analysis and experiment test to study the mechanical properties.Firstly, the paper derived theoretical formulas about round wire wave spring and multi wave spring ?s stiffness characteristics. Secondly, round wire wave spring and multi wave spring?s solid modeling were established by the UG wave rule. In order to facilitate the analysis and study of crest-to-crest wave spring, we also established the modeling. We import WAVO round wire wave spring into workbench software and make simulation analysis of its loading process and get it stiffness characteristic curve. Then we make the stiffness characteristic based on the round wire wave springs? diameter, wave number and friction coefficient and get the relationship between wire wave spring stiffness and its various parameters. Thirdly, we do stiffness test about WAVO round wire wave spring and compared theoretical calculation?s data and finite element analysis? date with test data. Finally, we obtained their natural frequencies and mode shapes through modal analysis; we also obtained their resonant response under sinusoidal loads.Through the above analysis, we obtained the conclusion that finite element method can be learned as a useful method for the analysis of wave spring. The stiffness characteristic curve is line within its scope of work and stiffness is stability. The relationship of spring stiffness with the wave springs? diameter and wave number is a power function. The relationship of spring stiffness with the wave springs? friction coefficient is linear function. Multi wave spring stiffness is greatly increased compared with corresponding crest-to-crest wave spring.
