With countries pay more attention to the wind energy utilization, wind power fields are increasing in a great number, fault diagnosis and maintenance workload of wind power equipment is huge. However, because the wind farms are required installed in some remote areas, and wind turbines are installed at the top of the tower,which brings great difficulties to fault detection by the general vibration sensor.Because signal acquisition and transmission are inconvenient, it is difficult to promote fault diagnosis work and wind turbine maintenance. Therefore, research a kind of simple and easy method for senseless fault diagnosis becomes very important.This paper puts forward a system modeling method, which is different from traditional wind power pattern based on stator current method. The simulation model of wind turbine is established under the environment of MATLAB/Simulink, normal and fault gears dynamics simulation models are set up in the ADAMS environment.both of them build a combination of electrical and mechanical joint simulation model based on ADAMS/MATLAB. In the simulation experiment, simulated the stator current and voltage signal at the state of normal and fault, current fault features are investigated when the gear is normal or has a tooth broke. In addition, the wind turbine simulation experiment platform is established and designed based on the laboratory conditions, simulation experiment is taken under normal and fault condition. Acquisitions of the stator current signal and the stator voltage and speed signal are analyzed, and compared with the electromechanical simulation results under the joint simulation. It can verify the rationality of electrical and mechanical joint simulation model and the feasibility of stator current method in wind turbine system fault diagnosis.Simulation and experiment results show that the constructed electrical and mechanical joint simulation model can well reflect the operation status of the windturbine under different operating conditions, which provides a new simulation modeling method for the wind turbine fault diagnosis. At the same time it indicates that stator current detection method can be applied to the fault diagnosis of wind turbine.
