With the development of society, the secondary water supply technology in the past no longer meet the needs of users, and the rapid development of the internet not only brought the era of informatization, but also the new direction for the secondary water supply technology. The introduction of IoT construction can effectively solve the phenomenon of "information isolated island" in the water supply system, open information barriers between each subsystem, effectively strengthen management personnel’supervision and control to the water supply system, and better guarantee of safe water for users. At the same time, under the emerging big data concepts, pay attention to the preservation and processing of information data is a new development goal for the water supply system in the future, which can improve the system security and operating efficiency, to further protect the user’s interests.This paper firstly expounds the necessity and importance of the IoT construction, analyzes the development and status of the secondary water supply technology, combined with the urban water supply characteristics and the needs of urban water supply, and then proposes the design principles, design goals and the overall frame of IoT-Based Secondary Water Supply System. System development efforts in IoT construction, and safety, friendly, extended target etc., which realizes multiplatform access, and helps managers to remote monitoring and control of pumping station, strengthen the security of the system.Based on the general framework of secondary water supply system, we made detail design and elaboration of each function module, presents the framework and hierarchy analytic to the unity control platform MA-I, and gives the system’s major user groups. Then, based on the above design, we developed the system, and made a detailed introduction to the realization of MA-I. The unity control platform is the hub of the whole system, to above, achieves data exchange and reception of data and control instructions with business layer, to below, achieves monitor, connection, data exchange and control command issued with the pump intelligent terminal. Platform implementation mainly depends on the following two parts:(1) interact with the database information:responsible for the system operation information’s storage and retrieval; (2) service gateway function:responsible for the interaction of and information and instructions between the platform, pumping stations, mobile client and web client, realizes remote viewing and monitoring functions.In the end, we conducted the functional test of the system, the user survey and evaluation, and made a practical test. Through the analysis we came to the conclusion: the system has achieved the design requirements well, the functional components are working properly, the operation is simple, so that managers can quick to use.
