At present, high-rise and super high-rise buildings are widely implemented. As a most dangerous part of high-rise building construction process, deep excavations become more prominent in its importance. Deep excavations have the characteristics of high risk, long duration, construct difficulty, moreover, most deep excavation accidents are caused by the failure of retaining and protection structure. Deep excavation is also in the foundation construction stage, however, the research on the influence of the foundation construction to the deep excavation retaining and protection structure is not so much. Therefore, this article narrate about this problem from the basic theory of deep excavation, the main content of the article as follows.First, get a simple understanding of deep excavation and its retaining and protection structure. Mainly to understand the concept and characteristics of the deep excavation, the form of the deep excavation retaining and protection structure, and the process and key points of the retaining and protection structure's design, construction, monitoring.Second, collect a large number of deep excavation accident cases as a penetrative point. Classify the deep excavation accident from the responsibility of the main body, the occurrence mechanism and the consequences, then further analysis the cause of deep excavation accident. At last, determine the accuracy of the above factors according to the monitoring data.Finally, according to the mature risk evaluation theory, select a suitable method of the risk evaluation for the practical project application. This method can be applied to the risk evaluation of deep excavation retaining and protection structure in the whole process of foundation construction stage. At the same time, implement a risk evaluation in a selected period of the project, compare the evaluation results and the contents of the previous analysis, we can get a result that the research content of this paper is suitable for the practical application of the project.
