With the vigorous development of the transport industry,the traffic increase rapidly and it makes the road's load increase rapidly.In order to make the asphalt pavement be able to adapt to today's traffic,more and more subjects about how to develop a new type of modified asphalt have been proposed.The purpose of this paper is to develop a new type of modified asphalt “Polyurethane modified asphalt”,by study the asphalt's properties and the asphalt mixture's road performance to evaluate whether the asphalt can be used in today's road.The main contents of this paper include the following aspectsThis paper use the law of the Brookfield viscosity changes over time to determine the polyurethane modified asphalt mixing temperature,the temperature is 120 ? and the polyurethane modified asphalt mixture's curing temperature is 120 ?.By using the Fluorescence microscopy,determined that the mixing is 10 minutes.At last we determine the preparation of polyurethane modified asphalt.Also through Infrared analysis,we get the Polyurethane modified asphalt and polyurethane modified asphalt mixture's strength on the formation mechanism.We also get polyurethane modified asphalt mixture's curing time is 48 hours.This paper compare the performance of different polyurethane modified asphalt,the normal asphalt and the SBS modified asphalt,find that the polyurethane modified asphalt's high temperature performance and low temperature performance is better than the other asphalt.If you add more polyurethane to the asphalt,the asphalt's performance will be better than before.Also the polyurethane's effect is better than the SBS modifier's effect,This paper compare the road performance of different polyurethane modified asphalt mixture,the normal asphalt mixture and the SBS modified asphalt mixture,find that the polyurethane modified asphalt mixture's high temperature performance and low temperature performance is better than the other asphalt mixture.If you add more polyurethane to the asphalt mixture,the asphalt mixture's performance will be better than before.The polyurethane modified asphalt mixture's water stability is worse than the other asphalt mixture.This paper has researched the different polyurethane modified asphalt mixture's dynamic modulus and fatigue performance.We find that in the situation of same temperature the dynamic modulus will be increased when the load frequency increase,in the situation of same load frequency the dynamic modulus will be decreased when the load temperature incr eases.Through this result we know that the high temperature and the low frequency have the same effect on the dynamic modulus.Through the research on fatigue performance we know that polyurethane can make the mixture's fatigue performance better than before.
