The superalloy parts have a wide range of applications in aerospace fields because of the good mechanism performance in high temperature. But the thermal conductivity of the superalloy is very low, it's easy to produce hardening when turning the parts. The surface quality of the parts is unstable and the residual stress is significant when the feed rate is high. The EDM molding have an advantage on controlling the machining distortion. In this paper, the EDM-Turing Combined processing program is determined, which is based on the machining process of the K465 superalloy ring block parts. It takes advantage of the EDM to remove most of the stock, then uses turning to finish the part. Through a lot of trials and testing, the paper has research on processing efficiency of K465 superalloy ring part. The main contents include:Based on the ring block part structure analysis,the paper draws allowance chart and determine EDM parts distribution margin. Using UG software to establish three-dimensional model of EDM electrodes and fixtures, determine the multi-stage EDM program, and processing efficiency, processing costs were analyzed.The finishing jig model is established by UG software, and the static analysis and modal analysis are finished by ABAQUS software.The results assure the feasibility of fixture structure. The processing clamping means are optimized. The results shorten tooling of air travel and reduces tool consumption.The best tool cutting angles are determined by ABAQUS software during different parts stress analysis and then determine the subsequent 55 degree turning finishing processing to improve processing efficiency.Labyrinth process is optimized, and comparision have been conducted on machining efficiency between a triangular thread turning and special labyrinth cutting tool Then the paper chooses special six tooth comb teeth of the cutting tool based on the tool consumption and processing time for analysis.Through these studies, the paper analyzes the possibility of turning complex machining with EDM, then finds the optimal technology solutions for machining the K465 ring parts, achieves the target cost-efficient processing of parts, and provides a solution superalloy parts machining distortion control.
