The vibration disc dryer is a new type of high efficiency and energy saving drying machine, which is developed with the use of vibration principle. The vibration disc dryer connects convection with radiation and conduction. It is suitable for good heating conditions and material which allow for a long time to contact heating occasions. Through the numerical simulation for the law of motion of the material and the transfer of the heat, and comparing the simulation results by changing parameters, we can provide theoretical basis for the improvement and optimization of the drying machine.This paper introduces the working principle and the law of vibration of the vibration disc dryer, and simulates the drying process of graphite powder. The drying methods are mainly composed of heat conduction. It passes the heat which produced by the medium to the material through baffle plate.The simplified three-dimensional model can be established based on the processing software-Gambit, meanwhile the model can be meshed and the boundary condition can be set. The turbulence model and energy equation can be used when we analysis the temperature field of the bottom of the baffle plate, then we can get the contours of static temperature. We can analysis the temperature distribution under different flow rate through changing the water entry velocity. Hot water flow and heat transfer conditions can be contrastively observed by changing the parameters of the supporting tube, then the heat transfer coefficient can be calculated depending on the contours of static temperature. After this, we can simulate the change of the material temperature and get different material temperature in different time. In order to get the speed of the material in different time, the VOF model can be selected for tracking the velocity vector, and then analyzing the motion law of materials.The aim of this research is to obtain the numerical simulation result of temperature and the law of motion by analysis of fluid situation and heat transfer law in vibration disc dryer based on the theory of fluid mechanics and heat transfer. The research result can put forward a new research method for the improvement and optimization of drying process through changing every parameters and contrasting the results of the simulation.
