The Research Of Transformation Of Zhisuo In Historical Cities In Shanxi Province

As the researcher Hu Rulei said:”The center of ancinent Chinese city is Yamen, the center of western city is Square.” Zhisuo, as the government center of ancient Chinese society, plays a very important role in the urban space development. The paper is based on “Four Dimension City” theory. Firstly it analyzes the original type and current status of historical city Zhisuo space in Shanxi province; secondly it summarizes the transformation of Zhisuo space from ancient time till now; thirdly it assumes the coupling relationship between Zhisuo transformation types and original types; finally it points out the protection and utilization strategies for different types of Zhizuo Space.The first part is theoretical study on Zhisuo transformation. In this part, the paper first analyzes the concept of “Zhizuo” and “Transfromation”, and then it analyzes the feature of original Zhisuo space which includes history, inner space and urban layouts of Zhisuo space.The second part is an empirical analysis based on 19 Zhisuo of 16 historical cities in Shanxi province. Firstly, based on the construction methods and process, it divides Zhizuo into three different types: original built type, improvement built type and reconstruction type and analyzes the functions in urban development process of those types. Secondly, based on transformation methods and status, it divides Zhizuo into four different types: substantial exsistence type, reconstruction type, vague presence type and conversion type; thirdly it analyzes the coupling relationship between original types and transformation types and summarizes the intrinsic regularity of it.The third part is proposing protection and utilization strategies for specific types of Zhisuo space: original protection strategy for substantial exsistence type; exhibition utilization strategy for reconstruction type; control development strategy for conversion type.
