The aerial work platform is an engineering equipment for high-altitude operations, which is widely used in aerospace, shipbuilding, power, construction, and so on. Ships will be larger and larger in the future, so the demand of the aerial work platform will greatly increase. The working bucket of the aerial work platform should always keep the level state as the staff’s aerial work platform, in order to ensure the safety of the work. Aiming the harbor aerial work platform, this paper studies the working bucket automatic leveling system. This paper studies the following aspects:In this paper, a variety of bucket leveling mode of the aerial work platform were studied and analyzed, the conclusion is: when the job height of the telescopic boom aerial work platform is greater than 30 m, the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling mode should be selected. This leveling mode has high accuracy, good stability, small hysteresis, and reliable in high-altitude operations.According to the work requirements of the aerial work platform of the shipbuilding industry, a electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system was designed. In the system, a 24 V DC power supply and a small hydraulic pump station was used to support the power, the rack and pinion swing hydraulic cylinders were used as actuator, the proportional multi-way valve was used as the control element. And the system structure is compact and light.The mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system was established. The system stability were analyzed using MATLAB software.The HWIL physical model of the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system of the working bucket was established using AMESim software, and the performance of the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system of the working bucket was analyzed, several important parameters that affect the performance of the leveling system were found. By optimizing these parameters, the performance of the bucket leveling system has been greatly improved.The test verification platform of the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system of the working bucket was designed. The test platform is mainly used for testing the performance of the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system and finding the problem in actual working conditions.The control part of the electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system of the bucket was designed. The control functions of the system include: the luffing function, the working bucket leveling function, the anti-collision function, fault alarm and overload alarm. The control system uses the EPEC control module as the controller,which was widely used in construction machinery and equipment. And then, the hardware circuit of the control system was designed, the control program was written using the software of Codesys.
