Since 2008, as the core layer of Wuhan’s city circle, Ezhou has entered a new stage of development. As the existing traffic system can not meet the development of the urban planning, to improve the existing traffic conditions and accelerating the development of city, constructing the Wuchu avenue is urgently needed. Due to the complex geological situation of the project item, especially the plenty of soft soil subgrade, sludge’s thickness up to 6 m in some region. If the soft soil subgrade treatment has improper handled, not only the quality of project item is difficult to be guaranteed, also brings hidden trouble to the road operation. So how to predict the settlement accurately during the construction and post-construction will directly affect the quality whether can meet the demand of national road network planning: high quality, high safety and economic.According to the 2th section of the western Wuchu avenue project, combined with the engineering geological exploration data and laboratory test data, using numerical simulation method and curve fitting to analysis the settlement of the three cross section on behalf of three kinds of working condition. Through the comparison between results of two methods, the result of hyperbolic fitting method is more close to the measured settlement data. It suggests that the hyperbolic fitting method is more suitable for this project item, so it can be applied to other sections of this project item to predict the settlement.In the general section of the project, hyperbola method can get a better fitting results. But for some interface that soil properties changed, it can be treated as a special section to use FLAC3 D numerical simulation method. But it needed to control the selection of parameters and models strictly, make the error reduced to the required range. In this paper, the settlement prediction analysis results of three typical sections provides a certain reference value to Wuchu avenue and other similar soft soil subgrade project.
