With the rapid development of China’s economy, the problem of energy shortage is becoming more and more prominent. China is rich in coal resources, but the lack of oil resources.In order to reduce dependence on oil imports and improve the utilization efficiency of coal energy, China is vigorously developping coal gasification project. As the critical factory of coal gasification project, the coal gasification highrise industry building makes its upper part of the steel structure and lower part of concrete structure, in order to meet the needs of functional requirements and installation of equipment. This structure form makes it upper flexible and under rigid, with the heavy-duty equipment constituting composite system, which lead to the presence of the entire structure stiffness and mass eccentricity. The building will have a greater torsion and deformation under seismic action, which is disadvantageous for seismic design of structure.Semi-active control is one of the control field international frontier subject in the structural vibration control field, it not only maintains the simple structure, better maintenance of passive control, but also overcomes needing external energy to provide direct control of active control,which has good and reliable effect. Magnetorheological elastomer(MRE) is a popular reseach of magnetorheological intelligent materials in recent years, which has the advantages of good stability, fast response, simple structure and other advantages compared of the normal magnetorheological material. MRE in the semi-active control has wide application prospect.This article install MRE damper to a typical coal gasification highrise industry building, which study the semi-active control effect for highrise industrial eccentric structure.The main content of the article is as follows:(1) This paper summarizes the current research based on magnetorheological damper, expouds the problems of high-rise building eccentric structure in structural seismic design and reseach. As a new semi-active control measures, MRE damper is not applied to the eccentric structure of the high-rise building which has the high scientific research value.(2) It studies structural vibration response of the coal gasification highrise industry building under rarely occurred earthquake, which Depend on the the finite element analysis software ANSYS. Then the elastomer damper(MRE) is installed in the coal gasification highrise building with magnetorheological, Using SIMULINK to analysis the structure vibration control effect of semi-active control for the coal gasification highrise building.(3) Finally design a model shaking table test of coal gasification plant, using ANSYS to compare anslysising between the model and the prototype of the shaking table, which confirm the feasibility of this experiment to lay the foundation for the future shaking table test.
