As a effective automotive shock absorber, Dual mass flywheel has got more and more attention, research and application from the automobile industry. Dual mass flywheel is installed between the engine and transmission, and it is long-term under the poor condition of high speed, strong vibration.Therefore,the study of its reliability is a necessity. and when it comes to reliability,dynamic characteristics and failure analysis are two main derection.In this paper, the DMF-CS developed by Wuhan University of Technology and one enterpriseis of Hubei province is regared as the research object. and through the three-dimensional modeling software and finite element analysis software, parts of DMF's natural frequencies can be obtained so that the critical speed can be calculated and checked.and the overall vibration damping performance of the whole shock absorber is verified by the dynamic response of the dynamic response.at the same time,the effect of torque and centrifugal force on DMF's failure can be found by torque and high-speed rotating flywheel's failure reliability analysis. all of these accurately simulate the working condition of the DMF, providing theoretical basis to flywheel's structure optimization design and fatigue life calculation so as to improve the reliability of structure.The reseach is as follows:First, the basic knowledge of DMF(include its classification, structure, principle and the damping effect of damping)is introduced. and then, the checking criterion of critical speed and the checking criterion of strength based on the speed limit of flywheel are put forward so that paving the way for the following essay.Then, the main components of DMF are made into three-dimensional modeling as well as modal analysis.after doing this, their five-order natural frequency and vibration mode can be got as well as the calculating and checking of the critical speed.the ADAMS software is used to analyze the dynamic response of the dual mass flywheel in the idle speed and the file mode so that verify the vibration performance of the whole structure.Finally, on the basis of this, high speed rotating flywheel failure reliability simulation and torque failure reliability simulation will be done. last, the failure detection method for double mass flywheel and the prevention measures of flywheel failure will be put forward.
