Along with the rapid development of the computer technology and information technology in all fields, the information construction will certainly become the goal of the construction industry development, in which context BIM technology produce. BIM technology widely applied around the world. Integrating application of BIM technology in the construction of MEP line edge, and using the BIM technology theory in the construction of the underground pipe network can effectively solve all sorts of problems of the current domestic underground pipe network construction and operational management. Using BIM technology can realize operations management information, fine management of the whole life cycle from planning and design to construction guidance of the underground pipe net work.In this paper, main work is as follows:First of all, this paper introduces and summarizes the problems and the wiring principle of underground pipe network currently in the project construction and operations management in our country.Secondly, this paper introduces the characteristics of BIM technology, analyzes the BIM technology advantages and value in the construction of underground pipelines. Using BIM technology can not only realize pipeline visualization, 3D modeling of collision detection in the pipeline, pipeline optimization design and visualization technical clarification, but also coordinate all line departments to work together, reasonably layout, construct, operate and manage. With every stage of the underground pipe network engineering data and information collection of BIM technology, it can realize network digital management of the late.Finally, basing on the underground pipe network project example of the Chu Shijia residence, we can apply BIM technology for the underground pipe network's planning and design, construction guidance, operation and maintenance management. At all stages of engineering construction, the features and advantages of the BIM technology can fully be demonstrated, to explore the feasibility of the BIM technology application in underground pipe network construction. The 3D pipeline model visualization function based on BIM can accurately and visually reflect the professional pipeline and geometric relations in the distribution of the underground space. At the same time, BIM powerful database management can achieve information, intelligent, digital management of underground pipe network. And it also analyzed the application of the BIM technology and GIS technology in the underground pipe network. The edge fusion of two kinds of technological must be the development tendency of the construction of digital city.
