In this paper,the portal steel building with large span and variable cross-section has been researched,existing finite element software ANSYS has been used for establishing single beam gantry frame model and whole model,and static performance,dynamic characteristics and seismic response of the model have been analyzed,so as to provide a reliable design basis for calculation and analysis.The main contents include:1.The parameters of the portal steel building with large span and variable cross-section model is determined,and the finite element software ANSYS is used to establish single beam gantry frame model and whole model.2.Based on the static performance analysis of single beam gantry frame model in six cases,the values of the internal force,stress and displacement and the value distribution are got.Its strength and lateral displacement are judged to meet the requirements,and the effects of column constraint and the high-span ratio of rigid frame structure are discussed.3.Through model analysis of single beam gantry frame model and whole model respectively,dynamic characteristics is determined.4.Accordance to the "seismic design of buildings" in the relevant provisions,the two natural waves(El Centro wave and the Taft wave)and a set of artificial seismic wave are used for seismic response analysis of the whole finite element model,and the structural dynamic responses are decided,which provide the necessary technical parameter for seismic design of the portal steel building with large span and variable cross-section.
