For the area was restricted which made the construction of formwork couldn’t meet the working space in cast-in-situ concrete external wall in underground project, construction organization usually used the construction method which used pit wall as exterior formwork and unilateral formwork system as interior modular. The problem of limited space was effectively solved though this construction method and commendable construction effect was achieved. But at present research on unilateral formwork system was just limited to actual project applications whose design was relatively conservative because the designer frequently made design proposal rely on experience. It made waste and improved the cost. Therefore, research on unilateral formwork system design should be systematic and comprehensive and then arrive at the economic design method which can achieve the purpose of reducing the project cost.The thesis based on basic design theory of conventional bilateral formwork system,and used existing research achievement for reference. It made further study to the unilateral formwork system economic design method which can set up a corresponding mechanical model and obtain arrangement distance of the main structural members in unilateral formwork system by calculation. The main content of the thesis research were as follows:(1 Conventional bilateral formwork and support system basic theory and design method was studied, Including the principle of design, relevant specification requirements and relevant theoretical basis, including the principle of design, relevant specification requirements and relevant theoretical basis, that provided solid theoryfoundation for the design of unilateral formwork system.(2)Through the systematic analysis of concrete unilateral formwork systemconstruction condition, and combined with the actual engineering of the system components in the construction of the stress state and the principle of force, the stress of the corresponding mechanical model was set up. Based on analysis of the mostunfavorable stress distribution, successfully established mechanical model is suitable for the economic design.(3)Based on the value engineering theory, the economic design method of unilateral formwork system was discussed. On the strength of value engineering, this paper put forward the economic design method whose principle was made the system components meet the functional requirements under the most unfavourable condition to make full use of the mechanical properties of materials. The computational method about economic arrangement distance of main beams, minor beams, supports and minimum diameter of bolts was parsed.(4)The economic arrangement distances of frequently-used materials in main beams,minor beams, supports and bolts were worked out by using the economical design method of research and analysis. Then the forms which could use for practical engineering application directly about economic arrangement distances of the structural members were made, and the design cost would reduce.(5)Surrounding the implementation process problems under the condition of economic design to study, its control method was proposed. The member section, mechanical property of material, deformation and displacement of each component in implementation should be strictly controlled and made the strength and deformation, displacement in the scope of the requirements to ensure the smooth implementation of construction. And combined with engineering example, the economic arrangement distances data in the table directly used in actual construction, and its good economic benefit could be the strong prove of superiority and feasibility of economic design method in the paper.
