Study Of Value Of Low Utilization Space

The current world economy development highly reflects the change degree of social phenomenon in China. The rapid development of society and economy makes the urban space get saturated and presents the tendency of outward expansion and occupation. Also, the rising of computer system and internetwork has attracted most of the attention. However, the urbanization process is quick and quiet, that is, it disappears in people's sight but it isn't away from people's life. Besides that, the developers seek maximum benefits. They dismantle the whole buildings which have cultural and historical significance and a tall building could be built on a piece of open space in just a few months. The blind construction of human is lack of the real understanding on buildings and designs, lack of the inheritance of history and lack of spiritual and cultural expectations. The building is only a carrier which could meet the function of human use but it is insufficient of soul. Although the Theory of Organic Decentralization which is widely used in 1943 is still recognized as the effective solution, it could not solve the problem of urban development in China fundamentally. Our city did not consider the concept of“Reserved Space”. Nowadays, under the premise that the urban space is statured, the urban construction could no longer follow a single solution of outward evacuation. While evacuating properly, establishing the concept of “Low Space Utilization”which is developed from the concept of “Reserved Space” in central city and working along both lines could solve the problems rapidly and effectively.Through the survey and exploration on urban space environment, this topic defines the problem of urban space,existing phenomenon and urban development direction with the research methods of questionnaire investigation and interdisciplinary application. Based on that, it analyzes the feasibility of low utilization space in city to reveal the main function of open spirit and space adjustment of low utilization space. Besides, in the fourth chapter,it focuses on the analysis and elaboration of theoretical basis and specific content of the concept of low utilization space with the auxiliary description of cases. In the fifth chapter, it focuses on the elaboration of experimental value and experimental scheme of low utilization space.Introduced by "Solid Building Private Collection" Project of the 8th Venice Biennale ofArchitecture in 2002, it puts forward many schemes and concepts. And the focus of these concepts is not the reality, but there are also the transformation of people's thought and life,the gradual increasing acceptance of new thought and people have been able to accept more new ideas when facing new trend of social development to seek diversified and ecological development under the new state of social development in the new age. The experimental scheme of low utilization space is the concept and assumption which is put forward based on the advanced and ecological development mode to provide more possibilities for urban development. Therefore,generally, the discussionon experimental value of low utilization space is aimed at establishing a new type of space culture and improving and influencing the living state of urban people,adjust city saturation.
