This paper presents a new kind of steel plate shear wall which is connected with four corner. Two kinds of the steel plate shear wall, namely, stiffened and unstiffened steel plate shear wall with four corner conncetions are considered in this paper. The finite element simulation and theoretical analysis methods are used to study the mechanical properties of the system. The main research contents and results are as follows:Elastic buckling analysis of unstiffened steel plate shear wall with four corner connections. Parametric analysis by finite element software is used in this part.The analysis shows that the unstiffened steel plate shear wall occurs a large wave diagonal buckling mode and factors affecting the shear buckling coefficient and buckling modes is only the aspect ratio(?). The formula for calculating the elastic buckling coefficients is obtained by the fitting and theoretical derivation method.Elastic-plastic buckling analysis of unstiffened steel plate shear wall with four corner connections. The shear performance under horizontal load were analyzed by finite element software and the mechanical behavior and the out of plane deformation is discussed. Through theoretical analysis, established the formula of ultimate shear strength and the smallest stiffness requirement of the boundary column. The formula of ultimate shear strength has been verified by finite element method. This part also make a comparison between the steel plate shear wall with four corner connections and four side connections.The result shows that if the steel usage is same, the shear strength and stiffness of the steel plate shear wall with four corner connections is highter than the steel plate shear wall with four side connections,namely, the steel plate shear wall with four corner connections is more efficient.Elastic buckling analysis of stiffened steel plate shear wall with four corner connections.
