Hundreds of meters span of large coal bunker is is very sensitive to wind?so it is very essential to consider wind load on coal bunker in design. The wind shape coefficient of whole sealing coal bunker can be found in Chinese load code, but we cannot find wind shape coefficient of open or semi-open coal bunker in Chinese load code which can be a reference for designer.In this paper systematic wind tunnel pressure–measuring tests of basket-handle arch were designed and carried out with the purpose of knowing the influence of opening setting and aspect ratio to wind load. Based on the wind tunnel data, the research to characteristics of wind load and vibration had been done, which include analysis of mean wind load, fluctusting wind load and wind vibration. At the same time these can provide reference to theoretical analysis and using in practice.The contents of paper are shown as follows:1.A series of wind tunnel tests of basket-handle arch were designed and carried out. The aspect ratio varied from1,1.5to2. There are6opening settings in the tests which include whole sealing,open and semi-open. The tests were processed in B-type terrain.2. Based on the wind tunnel data,the mean wind load on basket-handle arch was studied. The effects of open model and aspect ratio are discussed respectively. The worst wind direction of different opening setting was investigated in this paper. The worst wind direction of whole sealing and open is60degrees and the worst wind direction of semi-open is30degrees. Wind shape coefficients in worst wind direction are also investigated for reference.3.The effects of open model and aspect ratio on the fluctusting wind pressure and wind pressure spectra are also investigated. The extreme local shape coefficient was given which was used for maintenance structure. The auto-spectrum properties characteristics of wind pressure on basket-handle arch with different opening settings and aspect ratio were discussed respectively, and the model of auto-spectrum and cross-spectrum were given.4.The finite element models of basket-handle arch with different aspect ratio were created.Based on the wind tunnel data, the wind-induced vibration was analysed, and the wind-induced vibtation response with different opening setting and aspect ratio were given which include nodal displacement response, the internal force response of the structural element and the reacting force response. Then some gust response coefficients?2.5,2.8,3.0? were given which were used for equivalent static wind load. At last the extreme response of wind-induced vibration and equivalent static wind load response were compared in this paper.
