In the recent years, with the drilling technique facing deep wells and ultra-deep wells, the drilling fluid technology is raised higher demands. As one of the most important treatment agent in drilling fluid, the viscosity reducer directly affects the performance of the drilling fluid.Traditional fluid agents are often dedicated to about 200℃,while the effects of anti-salt and anti-calcium are not very good.Traditional fluid agents can’t meet the need of deep wells and ultra-wells in harsh conditions. Therefore, how to develop an anti-high-temperature and anti-salt viscosity reducer is especially important. In this paper,we optimize Sodium p-Styrene Sulfonate(SSS),2-acrylamido-2-ethyl propane sulfonic acid(AMPS)and acrylic acid(AA)as monomers which has the heat-resistant and high salt resistant through researching literatures about the structure and functional groups of traditional fluid agents which has the heat-resistant and high salt resistant. Then we use aqueous solution polymerization to aggregate these monomers. Finally a new viscosity reducer agent(PTPY-1)was synthesized. We can draw a conclusion that PTPY-1 not only has the heat-resistant(220℃)and high salt resistant to saturation, but also can maintain good rheological properties in 2%Ca Cl2 base fluid through the micro representation and macro evaluation of PTPY-1.Comparing industrial product SF-260,it has good viscosity reducer and shear reducer. Therefore,it is an outstanding viscosity reduction treatment agent. Finally a saturated salt water drilling fluid system for high temperature is formed on the basis of PTPY-1 through researching literatures, choosing treatment agents and optimizing the formula of the system.
