Lignin is a traditional drilling fluid treatment agent. It shows good viscosity reduction effect in drilling fluid.Starch is a modern environmental friendly drilling fluid treatment agent. It has the advantages of viscosity increasing and filtration loss in drilling fluid, but its temperature resistance is poor.In order to show their advantages in drilling fluid by using the two kinds of compounds, improve the temperature resistance of starch / lignin compounds in drilling fluid and extend the application of lignin, the liquid phase synthesis method with starch, lignin sulfonate as the main raw material, the preparation of drilling fluid additives and performance a certain temperature resistance in drilling fluid. To deal with the apparent viscosity of AV slurry as the evaluation index, raw materials, composite ratio and concentration of screening of lignin compound, then the experiment and analysis of drilling fluid performance evaluation experiment of anti swelling experiment, mud ball experiment, clay, control and evaluate their performance, using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)weight thermal analysis,(TGA)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)mechanism is discussed by means of synthetic clay swelling inhibitor. The experimental results show that under the temperature of 180 °C,ferric chloride and lignin mass ratio was 1:6,the complex(FLSS-3)as a viscosity reducing effect of drilling fluid additives is best, when FLSS-3 dosage was 0.3%,drilling fluid viscosity reduction rate reached 31.42%,some suppression of both the linear expansion rate in 40.9%,with the compound of PAM and KD-03,showed good compatibility, significantly reduces the drilling fluid apparent viscosity(AV)and plastic viscosity(PV),shear force(YP);under the temperature of 180 °C,polyaluminium chloride and lignin mass ratio was 1:8,the poly aluminum-lignosulfonate(complex PALS-4)as treating agent of drilling fluid, its apparent viscosity is reduced to 1.4mPa·S from 3.5mPa·s,the linear expansion rate decreased to 47.51%,washing rate reached 55.83%.In the same way,the high temperature treatment agent for starch drilling fluid was selected by treating the water loss of the pulp as the evaluation index. The experimental results show that the decomposition temperature of potato starch and corn starch is 150 °C,the temperature, the quality of potato starch and orange peel to 80-120 ratio is 1:3,when the dosage is 1.3%,the filtration of FL decreased from 12.6mL to 5.4mL,and has a certain viscosity, the viscosity reduction rate was 20%;in at the temperature of 150 °C,potato starch with polyferric sulfate ratio 14:1,drilling fluid treatment agent-income poly iron potato starch complex(PFTS-2),when the dosage is 1%,the filtration of drilling fluid FL is reduced from 12.6ml to 7.5ml,decreased by 40.47%,YP shear force reduced to 1.4mPa from 3.46mPa·S and its dosage is 1.5%,the linear expansion rate of 55.83%,with the compound of PAM and KD-03,the drilling fluid filtration performance can be improved significantly, and has a certain viscosity reducing effect, improve the flow properties of drilling fluid. The mechanism research results show that the temperature resistance of starch / lignin drilling high temperature treatment agents is mainly manifested in two aspects.(1)by chelating reaction, the temperature resistance of the treatment agent itself is improved, and the performance of drilling fluid is improved.(2)the effective bond between the obtained composite and bentonite is achieved through electrostatic adsorption, hydrogen bonding and anchoring effect, effectively inhibiting the hydration and expansion of clay, and showing a certain temperature resistance in drilling fluid performance evaluation.
