Pillar[n]arene is a new type of macrocyclic hosts,made up of hydroquinone or hydroquinone ether units which are linked by methylene bridges.Pillararenes have the rigid and highly symmetrical columnar structures.Because of their unique structure and excellent host-guest recognition effect,pillararenes have become a hot topic in supramolecular chemistry.The preparation,derivatization and application of host-guest recogbition about the pillararenes have been studied in this study.The BMpillararenes(2a,2b)and DMpillararenes(6a,6b,7)were synthesized by using 1-(3-bromopropoxy)-4-methoxybenzene,1,4-dimethoxybenzene and 1,4-di--butoxybenzene as the raw materials.At the same time,the derivatization of BMpilla--r[5]arene(4)was synthesized by the azide and reduction reaction.In addition,theeffects of catalyst,reaction time,material ratio and solvent on the product were discussed.The target compounds and their intermediates were confirmed by ~1H NMR and MS.The fluorescence titration and electrochemical experiments were conducted to explore the properties of pillararenes.The results of fluorescence titration experiment showed that the pillararenes(2a)and the DMABN fluorescence agent can form a stable inclusion complexe.And the results of electrochemical experiments also showed the electron-rich cavities of the pillararenes(6b)can form a stable 1:1inclusion complexe with the ferrocene in the oxidized state,which has the potential for molecular sensors.The study provides a theoretical basis and reference data for the application of pillararenes.
