Since soluble aluminum-based alloy is a new raw material for downhole tool of oil exploitation and its performance has not been accurately measured,this paper researches the performance of soluble aluminum-based alloy materials respectively from the perspectives of material metal elements,metal dissolving property and basic mechanical property of metal.Based on the properties of soluble aluminum-based alloy obtained from the research,this paper also verifies the performance of fracturing ball made from soluble aluminum-based alloy as downhole tool.The results show that due to fast dissolution and corrosion rates,the fracturing ball made from soluble aluminum-based alloy cannot directly meet downhole working conditions,and anti-corrosion treatment is needed to slow down the dissolution as well as corrosion rate.The problem of fast dissolution and corrosion rates can be solved through simple anti-corrosion treatment,which enables the fracturing ball of soluble aluminum-based alloy to meet the needs of downhole fracturing.The measurement showes that the soluble aluminum base alloy contains 1.28%Cu,0.16%Ti,0.12%Zr,0.02%B,1.90%Ga,3.19%Mg,0.02%Fe,0.22%Sn,0.35%In and92.74%Al.The maximum stretch experimental force of alloy sample was 13.41KN,the strength of extension is 268.17MPa,the ductility after tensile failure isδ=2.01%,reduction of area is 1.30%,maximum compressing experimental force is 411.99KN,compressive strength is 839.3Mpa,yield force is 306.36KN,yield strength is 624.11Mpa,and Vickers hardness is197.3HV.According to the alloy dissolution experiment,the solution rate of soluble aluminum base alloy is under the influence of dissolution temperature as well as Cl-concentration.That means,the solution rate of soluble aluminum base alloy is faster under higher dissolution temperature and Cl-concentration.The fracturing ball,treated by RE passivation film anti-corrosive solution,gets a maximum compressive strength of 103.91MPa after being eroded for 48h in 1.5%NaCl solution at 90℃.It takes 10 days to completely erode the fracturing ball.All of the above performance parameters meet the conditions of downhole working conditions during oil exploitation,it is proved that applying soluble aluminum-based alloy as the raw material to produce downhole oil tool is feasible.
