Assessment Of The Ecological Health Of Wetlands In Baiyangdian Nature Reserve By RS And GIS Technigues

Baiyangdian Wetland Nature Reserve is known as the "North China Kidney".It has many ecological functions such as slow flood dipping,regulating climate and maintaining natural water purification capacity and so on.It plays an important role for ecological balance and maintaining biodiversity.The development of Baiyangdian Lake has a long history and great intensity of development.Especially in recent decades,the wetland area of Baiyangdian Lake has been shrinking by natural factors and human activities interfere.There is a lot of serious threat of degradation.Baiyangdian ecological health status has been widely concerned by the government,experts and scholars and the public.Therefore,it is very important to select the ecological health assessment of Baiyangdian wetland for its urgent need of rectification and rational planning.In this paper,the Baiyangdian Nature Reserve is selected as the study area and based on the remote sensing,geographic information system(GIS)technology and the traditional wild ecological and hydrological monitoring methods,there are a series of evaluation index factors were selected from three aspects of water ecological,landscape plaque and human disturbance characteristics on the small scale and landscape scale.Using of the analytic hierarchy process and the comprehensive index method,the quantitative ecological evaluation of wetland in the study area was carried out,in order to put forward the main factors affecting the health status and management rehabilitation measures for the protection and restoration of Baiyangdian Nature Reserve to provide basic information.The results show:Baiyangdian Wetland Nature Reserve wetland ecological health comprehensive index of 0.303-0.711,in the unhealthy to healthy state and the overall ecological health status is unhealthy;There were differences in the health status of the four core functional areas in the study area.The order from good to bad is Burning Streets> Little White Chicken> Barley Lake> Algae Lake.However,the health rating of the core area is not consistent with the Baiyangdian Nature Reserve,which is consistent with the results of the field survey.It reflects that the functional zoning of the Baiyangdian Wetland Nature Reserve is not reasonable.In the evaluation index system,the key factors influencing the ecological health status of the study area are water ecological environment characteristics,and the key indicators are the water level of the precipitation area.Comprehensive study results,the following points are put forward for the management and development of Baiyangdian Wetland Nature Reserve: fully implementing increase income and reduce expenditure,coordinating regional water allocation,stablishing long-term ecological water replenishment mechanism,strengthening the comprehensive management of pollution,adjusting the structure of the breeding industry in the study area,Re-planning the ecological function area of Baiyangdian Nature Reserve,Scientific and rational distinction between the core area,buffer zone and experimental area and the establishment of a new Baiyangdian Nature Reserve protection policy and system.
