In China, with the mining intensity increased, speed accelerated, a large area of goaf left after the end of mining, resulting in a large number of goaf adjacent to each other, which brings great hidden trouble for mine safe mining. In this paper, the adjacent goaf of 33up02 working face in Nantun coal mine is taken as the research object, based on the combination of theoretical analysis, experimental research and field application, the spontaneous combustion characteristics of coal in goafthe monitoring technology and prevention methods were studied in the dangerous areas of coal spontaneous combustion.The spontaneous combustion characteristics of coal in Nantun coal mine were measured by spontaneous combustion experiment. The law of heating rate and high temperature point during spontaneous combustion were analyzed, and the coal spontaneous combustion index gas (CO, C2H4, C2H4/C2H6) and corresponding characteristic temperature are proposed.The intrinsically safe multi-parameter wireless sensor and monitoring base station which can detect temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide, oxygen, methane and pressure difference are developed. A joint observation system for gas-temperature-pressure difference of coal spontaneous combustion characteristics in goaf with cutability, redundancy and robustness is formed. The wireless monitoring and early warning software is designed and developed for the danger zone of coal spontaneous combustion, which realizes the early warning and monitoring on danger area of coal spontaneous combustion. The software includes the functions of collection and monitoring on characteristic information of coal spontaneous combustion, early warning of coal spontaneous combustion disaster, data analysis and report generation.According to the actual situation of the coal mine, the monitoring system applied in the field, all kinds of monitoring data acquisition, communication has good timeliness and reliability, the whole system is stable, suitable for monitoring characteristic information of coal spontaneous combustion in different area, which provides technical support for safety production of mine.Aiming at the hidden danger of spontaneous combustion in the adjacent goaf of Nantong coal mine, this paper puts forward large-scale closure, pressing the inert gas and grouting after drilling to goaf, shotcrete and plugging, rapid sealing, connected roadway closed and filled, and other control measures, through the specific application in the field, these methods can effectively control the occurrence of spontaneous combustion.
