Acrylic resin is widely used in industry due to its good gloss,color retention,weathering resistance,low price and simple synthesis technology.However,the “hot sticky cold brittle” of the acrylic resin and the inherent chemical stability is not very desirable.The drawbacks of acrylic resin limit their further application greatly.Secondly,as people's awareness of environmental protection,as well as national restrictions on VOC emissions,the research of water-based acrylic resin has been rapid development.In order to solve these problems,this paper combines the latest research results at home and abroad,according to the needs of social development carried out the work,the research contents and results are as follows:(1)Acrylic resin has excellent color retention,light resistance and weather resistance,but its heat resistance and water resistance are not good.In this paper,polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)modified with silane coupling agent,and then copolymerized with acrylic monomers by free radical polymerization.Due to the connection of covalent bond,no cracks were observed from the cured hybrid coatings with optical microscope.With excellent mechanical properties,thermal stability,corrosion resistance and hydrophobic property,the prepared hybrid coatings can be applied into heavy-duty chemical industry.(2)Acrylic resin mechanical properties and anti-corrosion properties is not good,and the epoxy resin molecules mainly contain epoxy groups,phenyl groups,hydroxyl groups and ether bonds,with excellent mechanical properties,corrosion resistance,chemical resistance,thermal stability and other properties.In this study,bisphenol A epoxy acrylate was chosen as modifier.At first,epoxy acrylate and acrylic monomers were mixed and bound in the micells in aqueous media,and then the hybrid latexes based on epoxy modifying acrylic resin were got by emulsion polymerization.The results shown that the composite latexes of epoxy modified acrylic resin were prepared successfully.The mechanical properties of the dry films were improved and the hardness was improved from B to 2H.The heat resistance was also improved,the weight loss temperature increased from 325? to 395?.The corrosion resistance was also improved.Water was used as solvent,in line with environmental requirements.Due to superior performance,it can be applied to the field of metal corrosion.(3)Organic-inorganic hybrid resin has many excellent properties,such as good corrosion resistance,hydrophobic properties,high and low temperature resistance,so that its application has received wide attention.In this paper,silica sol modified with silane coupling agent,and then copolymerized with acrylic monomers by free radical polymerization to obtain an organic-inorganic hybrid coating.The results shown that the mechanical properties of the modified paint films were improved,the hardness was improved from B to 2H,the heat resistance was also improved,the weight loss temperature was increased from 325? to 385? and the corrosion performance also improved.
