With the economic growth and industrial development,some toxic and hazardous substances are discharged into the water,especially oil and dyes,etc.These substances on the water caused by the pollution is extremely serious,so control and removal of oil and dyes is a hot research direction of wastewater treatment.Adsorption method is one of the common methods of wastewater treatment.In this paper,graphite-based carbon material are prepared by graphite as precursors to study the adsorption properties of oil and dyes in wastewater and expand the application field of graphite materials.In this paper,chemical oxidation intercalation method was used to oxidize natural flake graphite with K2Cr2O7,HNO3,HClO4 and CH3 COOH to prepare graphite-based carbon materials.The effects of composition amount and reaction conditions on the structure of graphite-based carbon were analyzed,and the adsorption properties of graphite-based carbon to malachite green(MG)dye and oil were tested,respectively.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The optimum proportion were as follows,C: K2Cr2O7: HNO3: HClO4: CH3COOH=5: 1.6: 3: 10: 3,the oxidizing temperature and oxidizing time are 30 ? and 30 min,respectively.The expanding volume of EG made at the optimum conditions is about 350mL/g.2.Compared with the traditional carbon materials,The adsorption performance of the graphite-based carbon material to the MG dye is better.The Langmuir isotherm model showed good fit to the equilibrium adsorption data,and kinetic studies show that the kinetic data can be delineated by pseudo second-order kinetic model.3.The adsorption capacity of graphite-based carbon materials to edible oil,diesel oil and gasoline was studied.It was found that the adsorption amount increased with the increase of the viscosity of the adsorbate.The adsorption capacity was positively correlated with the expansion volume of the graphite-based carbon material.The vacuum suction filtration method can be used for the recovery of oil and regenerate the graphite-based carbon materials.
