Ergonomics is a subject relate to psychology,physiology,anatomy,biomechanics and other fields.It studies human characteristics,abilities and limitations,and uses it to design and evaluate the equipment and systems people use.Ergonomics which was used in all aspects of design played a significant role in industrial design.Ergonomics promotes the development of industrial design,so that design can be real people-oriented.With continuous development of engineering machinery,industrial design has become the main driving force,development of engineering machinery products from previous functionality to customer needs as the center.In the efforts to create its brand value and image,it is necessary to carry out humanized development and design of excavator based on ergonomics.Under the status study of engineering machinery products,this paper takes the WK55 mining excavator of Taiyuan Heavy Industry as an example and carries out design and research of cab based on ergonomics.Present situation of excavator is analyzed to study how ergonomics is applied to design of excavator cab.Survey of driver's body size,maximum range of activities,H point and eye oval can do a full data preparation work of scientific excavator.Three-dimensional modeling was built to simulate driver's operation in the cab.Final model and color of excavator cab were established.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Analyzing present situation of excavator cab in China and abroad,the differences between domestic excavator cab and foreign excavator cab are obtained.(2)The excavator parts and their functions are analyzed in detail,and ergonomics research is carried out to prepare for further design.(3)Further detailed analysis of the human body based on ergonomics is carried out.Reliable data support is obtained through the argument and lay the foundation for subsequent design.(4)H point,oval and hard points of the seat are determined according to WK55 excavator.CATIA is used to conduct man-machine simulation,and seat effect map of excavator is made.(5)A set of excavator color scheme is designed with gray relation method and provides scientific basis to solve color matching problem in excavator design.It completes the effect drawing of excavator cab and appearance color.In summary,this article carries out research,design and improvement of excavator cab based on ergonomics.It has completed man-machine size settings of excavator cab and applied H points,oval,hard points and other data.In accordance with ergonomic principles,a set of human and psychologicalmatching with the color scheme is developed.Ultimately,development of excavator commissioned by the enterprise is completed.It can improve the comfort of excavator cab and brand value.
