With the increase of varieties of engineering plastics,the research on plastic with outstanding comprehensive performance is more active,such as ABS(acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene copolyme),PI(polyimide)and PA(polyamide).PA10 T is a kind of high temperature resistant nylon synthesized in recent years.It has excellent mechanical properties as well as high temperature resistance and acid and alkali resistance.Electroless plating is a cheap,convenient and effective method for surface metallization,and it is also suitable for industrial production.The conventional electroless plating process of engineering plastics has great disadvantages in the use of chromium and palladium.In this study,the metallization process of PA10 T is realized by the pretreatment process of chrome-free roughening and palladium-free activation,avoiding the harm of chromium to the environment and alleviating the shortage of palladium resources.In this paper,the coarsening system suitable for PA10 T is screened and optimized.Characterization of coarsening mechanism shows the presence of amino and carboxyl groups on the surface of the sample.The ionic copper activation and reduction process were selected.The effect of activation and reduction process on activation effect was studied,and the mechanism of activation methods was compared.Finally,the electroless plating and electroplating process were optimized after the sample was treated by chrome-free roughening and palladium-free activation.The ethanol-sulfuric acid coarsening system for PA10 T was screened by gravimetric method.The selected scheme was evaluated and optimized by orthogonal test.The evaluation index was the etching amount and the coating binding force of PA10 T.Excellent technology for the temperature 45?,acid concentration 45%,time 6min.The washing process of ethanol scrubbing was designed for the mucosa of the surface of the coarsened sample.The influence of roughening on the roughness of the sample was studied by photoelectric profilometer.The distribution and state of glass fiber under different roughening conditions were investigated by zoom stereo microscope and scanning electron microscope.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to characterize the types and contents of the surface groups such as original plates,coarsening samples and coarsening products.The results showed that the roughening process actually breaks the PA10 T amide bond and generates the amino and carboxyl groups.Based on the kinds of surface groups after roughening,ionic copper activation method was adopted.The effects of activation conditions on activation rate and coverage were investigated by electronic balance,zoom stereo microscope and whiteness meter.When the CuSO4?5H2O concentration of 50g·L-1,pH is 3.7,the temperature of 30? can achieve good coverage of the activation effect.The activity of different activators was characterized by electrochemical methods.The effects of NaOH and NaBH4 concentration on the activation coverage were studied by electron microscopy and whiteness meter respectively.With 20g·L-1 NaOH,10g·L-1 NaBH4 reducing solution formula can get the best activation effect.The relationship between atomic and intermetallic bonding on the surface of the sample was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,and the activation mechanism and model were explained.The effect of electroless copper plating and electroplating copper on the morphology and coverage of the coating was studied by zoom stereo microscope and photoelectric profiler.When the electroless plating temperature was 50~70?,the time was about 30 min,the plating current density was 2A·dm-2,time in 30~60min,can make the coating with good adhesion and bright.The coating binding force of the PA10 T after metallization was measured by the belt tensile method and peel test.
