Fluorescence probe plays an important role in biological imaging and sensing. It can be used as a visual tool for the research of biological structure and complex life processes. As is known to all, most of the organic fluorescence dyes have the common phenomenon that called aggregation caused quenching(ACQ)in the cell environment, which limits their application in biological field. While the unique phenomenon aggregation induced emission solve the problem of ACQ,which bothering people for a long time.In recent years,AIE fluorescent materials have attracted a great many of attention, and it has a excellent application in devices and chemical sensing. In the field of biological, fluorescent organic small materials with AIE properties, can gather at the surface of biological macromolecules upon hydrophobic action or electrostatic interaction, aggregating induced luminescence.Compared with other fluorescent materials,AIE materials have many excellent advantages, become the ideal materials used for fluorescence probe and biological imaging.Firstly,we have developed an easily synthesized organic small-molecule ESIPT(excited state intramolecular proton transfer)probe with strong luminescence, which displays AIE characteristic.Featured by short response time of 20 seconds via quick penetration, boosting fluorescence when fixed and concentrated in cytoplasm via hydrogen bonding, and photostable emission under intense illumination, the probe performed as an excellent fluorescent bioimaging dye, which rapidly and selectively stained cytoplasm of living He La cells.Secondly,we have designed and synthesized a new type of multifunctional organic small molecular by introducing diarylethylene as optical switch unit to AIE system. The organic small molecular displayed AIE characteristic and photo-response features. We investigated its chemical and physical properties, cell toxicity, and the application as a temperature sensor via ratiometric fluorescence imaging in the field of biological.
