Paper-based microfluidic device(?PAD)was put forward by Whitesites research team in 2007,which is built with filter paper as base material through photolithography,spray wax printing and flexible printing technology,and used in colorimetric analysis,electrochemical analysis and biological analysis,etc.?PAD is a novel and desired platform designed for diagnostic assays: rapid,affordable,specific,environment friendly,semi-quantitative,and equipment free.Currently,?PAD has been developed for lactate,protein,uric acid,cholesterol determination,and monitoring health.It might be a promising application in clinical diagnosis,environmental monitoring,food safety and quality control and other fields.Fruit is one of the main components of diet structure.Fruit of food by 30-40% in daily diet is an important source of nutrients necessary for human body.Fruit is one of the third most important industries in our country,which is second to food and vegetables,and plays a very important role in the national economy.With the improvement of people's living standard,the improvement of dietary structure and the change of consumption concept,the demand of consumers for the quality of fruit are becoming more and more diversified.As a result,fruit quality detection has become a hot research topic in the field of food science and agriculture.Traditional method of fruit quality detection has many disadvantages,such as such as complex operation,time-consuming,high cost,and unable to realize on-line detection.Therefore,it is necessary to establish a simple and rapid method to evaluate fruit quality.In this study,?PAD combined with physical and chemical analysis to carry out the internal quality of fruit,including glucose,fructose,vitamin C content.With the rapid development of global information,improving the efficiency of information processing has become a top priority.With the popularity of cell phones,Android and optical recognition technology,it is a hot issue to use smart mobile devices to input information efficiently.To explore a smartphone with the new combination of ?PAD,developed based on the Android mobile phone application(App)realize acquisition,recognition and analysis of image information.The use of mobile phone camera to capture image information and mobile phone software to colorimetric analysis,the smart phone App analysis platform could achieve real-time detection.It can carry on the fast " check-up " to the fruit of the farmers market.It has the important practical significance to promote our country fruit brand status,enhance its competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets,increase the income of farmers and so on.The research of combining ?PAD with mobile phone APP to detect fruit quality lay a foundation for ?PAD in the detection of food used in food quality testing,food safety testing,provide the basis for theoretical research.The main contents and results of this study are as follows:1)Design and fabrication of the ?PADPaper as a base material has the following advantages: good flexibility,natural hydrophilic,larger specific surface area,can be used for functional treatment,low pollution,small investment.Therefore,it is a promising microfluidic substrate material.In this paper,the fabrication of plane and three-dimensional ?PAD are studied.The plane ?PAD production methods have spray wax printing and laser engraving method;Three-dimensional ?PAD made with folding method,bridge method and pressure method.2)Determination of glucose,fructose and vitamin C in fruit by the ?PADFruit is an important part of the diet structure,and crucial source of nutrients needed by the human body.The fruit quality of the traditional detection methods are complex,time-consuming,high cost and other shortcomings.Therefore,It is necessary to establish a method based on ?PAD for fast evaluation of the internal quality of fruit.In this study,we focus on using ?PAD to carry out fruit internal quality,mainly include glucose,fructose and vitamin C content.The method used in this paper is in agreement with the results of spectrophotometric method,which proves the feasibility of the method.3)development of smart phone AppOn the basis of the application of ?PAD detecting glucose in fruit samples,the smart phone was applied to design and establish phone application for glucose detection.This paper focus on the method of image positioning,image acquisition,image preprocessing,image calculation and analysis results.
