As important industrial parts,screw is widely used in petroleum,refrigeration,rubber,healthcare and many other industrial areas.Due to the different environments and functions,it makes the screw disparity between shape and size and forms all kinds of complex shaped screws.The profile of the special-shaped screw is a combination of one or more combinations of variable pitch,variable groove depth,variable spiral width,variable bottom diameter and the front and rear angle of variable thread.With the increasing use of spiral surface screw,special-shaped screw based on the intended purpose is different.Because of different screws surface forming mechanism and complicated screw type lines,it brings to the special-shaped screws machining enormous difficulty,especially in improving the special-shaped screw processing efficiency and precision.At present,most of the domestic screw manufacturing enterprises in producing technology fall behind,and the cutting state of the specialshaped screw is unstable during the actual processing,such as serious tool wear,higher processing cost,surface accuracy that is far less than the requirements.In view of the shortage of the processing technology and the method of the special shaped screw rod,this paper designs an open lathe CNC system specially used for special-shaped screw.The hardware of system is based on IPC,and the architecture of IPC + GTS motion controller is established with the core of GTS motion controller,which can realize the reasonable configuration of resources and can complete the parameters of special-shaped screw input,interpolation calculation,program decoding interpretation,servo control,system management and other tasks.The software of system uses the object-oriented and modular programming technology,and develops the man-machine interface in Visual Studio 2012 programming environment.The hardware and software functions of the whole system developed by this project have been divided into lots of modules.It can be processed different types of special-shaped screws thread turning.The experimental results show that geometric parameters of the special screw rod have achieved the expected results and it has a good processing efficiency and surface quality,which has a certain practical value.
