It is well-known that carbon fiber composites exhibit superior performance combined with high specific strength,high stiffness,high thermal stability and corrosion resistance.However,the adhesive property of thermosetting resins with carbon fiber is sorely needed to be improved due to the hydrophobic nature and inertia of carbon fiber.In order to improve the interfacial strength,an easy and facile process method was used to introduce the vinyl functionalized mesoporous silicas on carbon fiber via covalent bonding.The results proved that grafting V-MCM-41 was an effective way to improve the interfacial properties of composites.These results are due to MCM-41 contains abundant silanol groups,which are attributed to the formation of ester groups between CF and V-MCM-41,on the other hand,the vinyl on MCM-41 can react with the unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds of vinyl resin in the consolidation process.Morever,grafting V-MCM-41 on carbon fiber can enhance the surface roughness,which consequently improves the interfacial bond strength by creating local interlocks between fiber and resin.Furthermore,TG results showed mesoporous materials also affected the thermal properties of composies.The influence of thermal stability could be the special structure of V-MCM-41 hindrance the segmental motion of polymer chain.In addition,long-range ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure of MCM-41 may block the diffusion of volatile gas result in having difficulty in contacting with air.Based on the reports,the mesoporous material serving as a carrier was widely applied in nano composite.In this article,amino-modified mesoporous MCM-41 was acted as a carrier growing polyaniline by in-situ polymerization.The core-shell structure products were added into resin as filling materials in order to study the electrical conductivity of carbon fiber composites.The test results reveal that adding MCM-41@ PANI powders is beneficial to the electrical conductivity.
