With the continuous exploitation of coal, the problem of coal mining buried in special water could be confronted in more and more mining area.It is nessary that the comprehensive techniques of prevention and control need study in order to mine this coal and prolong service,as well as ensure the mine safty.Among the techniques, the main type of the water disasters need be studied first, then the corresponding measures of water control could be formulated. The research object in this paper is to mine the coal seam which buried in thick unconsolidated layers and thin bedrock in the No.12 area East Wing of Zhaojiazhai coalmine, combined with geological condition, hydrological and engineering geological characteristics,by means of theoretical calculation and numerical simulation etc.Based above researchs, the water control measures for the coal minging have been conducted. The main conclusions are as follow:1.According to analysing of the aquifer group and mine water filling conditions, the study area of coal seam was mainly threaten by the thick loose layer and thin bedrock area of overlying unconsolidated aquifer water flood, coal seam floor limestone water disaster.2.According to the UDEC numerical simulation and comparing with empirical formulas to select a formula to calculate the overburden movement damage height in the east wing of 12 minging area, combining with the thickness of bedrock, the east wing distrct was divided into sand prvention, waterproof areas.Proposed the water control measure is combined the safety sand prvention pillar with the aquifer dewatering aiming at loose aquifer flood disaster.3.On the basis of the east wing each aquifer water lever observation data, using the water bursting coefficient method, the coalbed floor in the east wing was divided into the safty, threatening and dangerous zones,The diversified water control measures are also proposed in different areas.
