Characteristic Analysis And Design Application Of Vietnamese Traditional Children's Wear

With the improving level of market's economy,the demand of consumers no longer stops at the basic materials,but towards a higher level of psychological needs.Vietnamese children's clothing industry is thriving with the development of the garment industry.Even though there are many foreign children's clothing brands in Vietnamese clothing market,but consumers still like traditional children's clothing.This paper first studies the development history of traditional Vietnamese clothing and finds that the traditional costumes of Vietnam show a strong blend,which is embodied in the compatibility and integration of Vietnamese children's clothing with foreign culture.Through the study of Vietnamese traditional children's clothing in each dynasty,the characteristics of Vietnamese traditional children's wear are analyzed and applied to modern design.During Hung Vuong dynasty,children's clothing style is simple and cylindrical,the original ecological materials are feathers,cotton,banana silk and other simple woven,closer to nature.The time of Ly and Tran dynasties was influenced by Confucianism,round neck four-piece suit becomes a popular tropical climate's style,white silk symbolizes the noble.The Le,Nguyen dynasties received western culture and impact of the Chinese Ming Dynasty clothing style,children's clothing changed from fourpiece suit to five-piece suit,Dao Linh suit gradually became traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai,became daily dress for little girls.Through investigating Shanghai and two representative business areas of Hanoi,the paper analyzs Vietnamese children's clothing market demand and children's clothing design status quo and results display:(1)Vietnamese consumers there are 33% of people who have deeper knowledge of traditional clothing,58% of them have standard knowledge about it,most consumers only know the lifestyle and holidays style of traditional clothing;50% of the consumers love traditional clothing,43% just likes it.(2)From the five aspects of price,color,fabric,style and mix-matching,analyzed consumer preferences for traditional children's clothing,more than 50% of consumers can accept the price range of 50 – 150 Rmb;47% of Shanghai consumers like bright and rich color of natural pattern for children's clothing,and 37% of Hanoi consumers prefer light-colored children's clothing;38% of consumers will choose natural cotton fabric;style demand bias trend,followed by taking into account the daily leisure sports to buy relatively comfortable children's clothing;40% of the consumers will buy by sets or by the advertisements.Analysis of Vietnam's traditional children's clothing design elements and characteristics: Hung Vuong dynasty children's clothing has human,animal patterns and feather colors;Le dynasty's "??ng H?" pattern,natural color,camisole;Nguyen dynasty's Ao Dai style and so on,all are applied by various ways into the traditional children's clothing,embodies the classical beauty without losing the lively vitality of children.This article is for children from 1 to 6 years old,combining the traditional pattern and ornaments,designed with traditional Vietnamese characteristics to meet the needs of consumers in the six series of modern children's clothing.Meanwhile,target comsumers were invited to evalute the design and according to the consumer's evaluation of the proposed analysis' s design results,the cloting were optimized futher design patterns combined with the Tran dynasty religious meaning of the lotus pattern on the vessels,was added to express the feeling of out of the mud without staining,soft and clean.The use of blended cotton fabric and blended silk fabric,more moisturizing than the cotton,quickdrying,smooth and comfortable,while the white,pink and blue combination reflects the children's lovely vitality.Finally,the traditional Vietnamese traditional embroidery craft with smooth fabric perfect comibinecd 6 sets design of male and female children's clothing were made 20 consumers were invited to visit,40% of consumers are satisfied,50% of consumers satisfied and expressed great interest,willing to buy.This paper provides a practical attempt to summarize the characteristics of traditional Vietnamese clothing,and provides practice for the application of Vietnamese traditional cultural elements in children's clothing design.It also provides reference for how to carry forward and inherit Vietnamese traditional culture in children's clothing design.
