Raman spectroscopy has some excellent characteristics such as high sensitivity, lossless, less required sample size and can be in situ detection, and it is widely used in the detection of ancient works of art(such as murals, paintings, sculpture, etc.),mineral pigments analysis and in situ repair process. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Introducing the detection of commonly red, yellow and white mineral pigments of ancient mural works, and excitation light source we use 532 nm and 785 nm.The results show that most of the samples have obvious Raman peaks in the range of low wave number(40~200cm-1).The data of this research have an important reference value to the analysis of ancient murals, authenticity identification and in situ repair.(2)We introduce the pattern matching algorithm in the application of Raman spectroscopy, when we aim at the quantitative analysis of different mineral pigments. We measure and analyze the Orpiment and Clam white mineral pigments which commonly used in ancient artworks, and processed the Similarity matching experiment analysis of spectrum.Additional,we processed the quantitative analysis of VCPA-PLS model which be established by using variable cluster analysis and partial least squares method. The results of the two algorithms will be compared at last and we will obtain more dependability experimental result.(3)The BOSS model will be used by quantitative analysis of three complex kinds of mixed mineral pigments. The advantage of this way is we can obtain the high precision result although we only have small amount of data can be used. The prediction of this way is higher than VCPA-PLS model.
